How to combine face-to-face and online components to optimize learning outcomes and student engagement in blended courses
Duración: 50 minutos|
This talk will look at the different ways of combining face-to-face and online learning in a blended language course, with the aim of identifying those blends that optimize both components, thereby giving rise to better learning outcomes and more student engagement. We will begin by providing a brief history of the evolution of our blended language courses at the EOIs in Catalonia. We will then look at different definitions of blended learning and types of blends based on their primary focus, the added value they provide and to what extent they bring about significant changes in the way teaching and learning occurs. We will then give some practical examples of activities that successfully combine face-to-face and online elements.
